Computer Science Degrees (continued from top)
Well, you've probably already realized that you're not like other people, especially when you end up arguing with your buddies about who makes a better operating system Apple or Microsoft. You've also probably realized that drooling in a computer fixit shop is probably a bit out of the ordinary. Lucky for you, there are others just like you out there, and most of them wind of pursuing computer science degrees.
Why not major in computer science if computers are on your mind all of the time anyway? Unfortunately, earning a computer science degree doesn't mean getting to play Doom online all the time. Most computer science majors have to work very hard to keep up their grades. Some of the harder classes that you'll have to take as a computer science major are computer programming classes. C and Java are two different programming languages that may keep you up at night.
Fortunately, this work will probably pay off when you reach graduation. Many computer science graduates land great paying entry-level computer programming jobs. The software industry is continuously growing, meaning that companies in this industry are always looking for fresh programming talent. Some of these companies even try to recruit students before they graduate by offering lucrative summer internship experiences. If you are currently deciding between a few different computer science schools, you may want to ask these schools if they have active on-campus recruiting programs. Those that do may be worth taking another look at.
